“Vision and the Roadmap for Port of Baku Climate Action Plan 2035” within the project titled " EU Support to the Enhancement of the Capabilities of the Port of Baku Phase 2" funded by the European Union, was held

 

On 10th of June 2021, a remote workshop “Vision and the Roadmap
for Port of Baku Climate Action Plan 2035” within the project titled " EU Support to the Enhancement of the Capabilities of the Port of Baku (PoB) Phase 2" funded by the European Union (EU), was held.

Main goal of the workshop is to present main features of a long-term strategy “Port of Baku 2035 - CO2 zero emission” and the relevant action plan on how to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions to the key stakeholders of the PoB.

Senior specialist of the HSE department of the PoB, Mrs Nigar Novruzova informed the participants about the “Green Port initiatives of the PoB” and the international expert of the EU project Mr Yuriy Lozynskyy delivered a presentation outlining main features of the long-term GHG zero emission strategy of the PoB.

Later, the potential joint initiatives amongst the stakeholders to achieve GHG zero emissions goals were discussed. 

Representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Azerbaijan Railways, Caspian Shipping Company, State Maritime Administration and private companies participated in the event.
