He was born in 1977 in Baku.

In 2002, he received a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Beloit College, USA.

In 2005, he received a Master's degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from Georgetown University, USA.

In 2015, he received his PHD from the University of Cambridge in the UK.

In 2006-2007, he worked as Deputy Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce in Washington.

In 2007-2012, he worked in various positions at ADA University.

He is the author of the book "Azerbaijan as a regional center in Central Eurasia", numerous scientific articles and one of the editors of the book "Beyond The Resource Curse".

On November 17, 2014, on the basis of the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Taleh Ziyadov was appointed Director General of the Baku International Sea Trade Port.

On March 18, 2015, on the basis of the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Taleh Ziyadov was appointed Director General of “Baku International Sea Trade Port” CJSC.

He is married, has 3 children.

Sohrab Ismayilov has a demonstrated history of working in the banking industry in the fields of Financial Risk, Risk Management, Analytical Skills, Banking, and Managerial Finance. Mr. Ismayilov also has strong business development expertise in various leading companies Mr. Ismayilov was appointed as Deputy Director-General of the Port of Baku since March 2021. Prior to his appointment Mr. Ismayilov used to work for the Port of Baku, Head of Financial Audit from June 2016 to October 2017, Chief Audit Executive from November 2017 to March 2021.Before joining the Port of Baku, Mr. Ismayilov also worked for the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan as Head of division in Internal Audit Department from May 2009 – May 2014, and Deputy Director of Internal Audit Department from May 2014 to June 2016.  Mr. Ismayilov holds Master’s degree in Finance from the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Master of Science from the City, University of London and Certificate in leading in Finance from Harvard Business School.
